Get ready for an exhilarating experience as Maldives National University (MNU) launches the highly anticipated MNU Marathon, starting in 2025! The first event is set for February 20-21, kicking off with a Kids Dash on Thursday evening, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere for the youngest runners.

The excitement continues into the night with the marathon distance race starting at 2:00 am, followed by the half marathon at 3:00 am, the 10k at 6:00 am, and the 5k race at 7:00 am. Each race begins and ends at the beautiful Hulhumale Central Park, offering participants a scenic and challenging course on a 5k verified route by the Maldives Athletic Association.

The top three male and female finishers in the marathon race will each receive MVR10,000, while the top three (male and female runners) in the half marathon race will earn MVR7,500 each. The 10k top three finishers (male and female) will take home MVR5,000, and the 5k top three finishers (male and female) winners will receive MVR3,000 each.

– marathon distance starting 2:00am (cutoff 6 hours)
– Half marathon distance starting 3:00am (cutoff 3 hours)
– 10k distance starting 6:00am (cutoff 2 hours)
– 5k distance starting 7:00am (cutoff 1 hour)

Note 1: KID’s Dash event is a short run for the little ones with the parents. Ages 4 to 7 years of age only, would do two rounds around central park with their parents.
Note 2: All runners who register will receive a race kit that includes the race bibs, race tee shirts and some goodies from sponsors
Note 3: The race will be timed by TfG races (except for Kids Dash event)
Note 4: The 5k loop will have an aid station at the half way point and an aid station in the race village where the runners can grab as they continue to loop (aid stations will have water, ORS as well as bananas)
Note 5: A first aid team will be involved from the start of the race until we finish
Note 6: Maldives National University students will volunteer in all main points of the race from the start of the expo till the conclusion
